Wet Pour Maintenance
Wetpour Maintenance is the process of looking after your soft surface and ensuring it stays safe. It involves a few basic tasks on an annual basis, that if carried out regularly, will keep your Wet Pour looking great and performing at its best.
Wet pour is a popular surfacing option for playgrounds as it offers a lot of safety benefits to children who may fall from equipment or simply slip on the ground. It absorbs the impact, which helps minimise any head injuries, allowing children to bounce back up and carry on playing.
Another benefit of wet pour is that it is easy to sweep clean, and any dirt and debris can be swept away very easily. We recommend that your surfacing is kept clear of all grass, weeds and leaves and that you perform a periodic low pressure washing with a garden hose to wash any dirt off the surface.
DIY Wetpour Maintenance: Steps to Keep Your Playground Safe
If you don’t want to invest in a full cleaning machine, then you could always purchase a wetpour repair kit which will enable you to tackle small patches of damage on your Wet Pour and make it look good as new again. This is a much cheaper alternative to a full replacement of the surface and can be done by yourself if you have the necessary tools.
Both RubbaSmart wetpour and JungleMulch safety surfacing are made from recycled rubber scraps, which are bonded together to create a thick and durable material with great impact-absorbing qualities. It can be laid on a variety of existing surfaces and is also installed with a porous and free-draining base, so it doesn’t require any topping up like loose fill surfacing such as bark or sand.
